Cherie Gil could not contain her happiness for fellow Alyas Robin Hood star Jaclyn Jose when the latter's film Ma' Rosa was chosen as the country's official entry to the best foreign language film category for Oscars 2017.
In an Instagram post, the actress known for her feisty kontrabida roles, spoke highly of the Cannes 2016 Best Actress.
"On the set with [Ma' Rosa] herself. No matter what has been, this lady will always have my respect and admiration for her incredible work and contribution as an actress! Aside from the fact that she is the mother of my niece [Andi Eigenmann] who I'm equally proud of. Congratulations!" she wrote in the caption.
In Alyas Robin Hood, both Cherie and Jaclyn will play mothers -- Cherie as Maggie to Sid Lucero's character Dean, and Jaclyn as Judy to Dingdong Dantes's character Pepe. The primetime series will premiere on Monday, September 19, after Encantadia.
