Nutritionist to the stars Nadine Tengco, who also happens to be Agot's cousin, posted a message of support.
She wrote. "'Government of the people, by the people, for the people' - democracy gives this to us. Our government exists to serve us. As citizens, we are THE BOSS. Even our own leaders know they are there to serve us. We all have the right to take our grievances to our leaders because they exist to serve us. My cousin [Agot Isidro] and her brother have different political views. Her brother is a Duterte supporter but they do not fight each other. They speak out re their leaders because as citizens of this nation they only want the best from their leaders.
Agot like all of us, is a citizen who can demand from government. As taxpayers we all keep this country afloat with our hard earned money. Agot is a good citizen. She follows the rules, pays her taxes, helps those who are in need as best she can. She does not even break traffic laws. She has great work ethics and takes care of many people.
We are all in this together. We all want the same things - peace, freedom, healthcare, jobs, income, [utilities], security, stability, etc. Let us not fight each other. Our leaders...they are accountable to us. That is their job. They work for us."
Another close friend of Agot, Cosmopolitan Philippines' Editorial Director Myrza Sison, used the hashtag #AgotWalangTakot on her post.
"So proud and in awe of your courage and for speaking your mind [Agot Isidro], truly a #FunFearlessFemale #agotwalangtakot"
Talent and events manager GR Rodis, who goes by the Instagram handle @showbizmanila, expressed her admiration for Agot and that she does not deserve the online bashing.
"I have always admired [Agot Isidro]. I met her almost at the start of her career. We don't have as much time to hang out as we had in the past but we try. All this online bashing is so undeserved. She may have stated strong words about the President but this was made in her Facebook page and is her opinion. I respect her right to her own opinion and to her writing of this in her own space. All of these backbiting trolls hiding under made up names bullying her on social media should just try to defend The President with counter arguments and not incoherent hysterical posts."
Malacañang has already issued an official statement on this matter through Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella.
