No matter what he gets himself to, Jeffrey will always be singing as this is his first love. Tomorrow, he’s set to perform two songs on GMA’s online concert platform, the Playlist.

After establishing a career in singing and acting, Jeffrey Hidalgo started wearing more hats as he ventured into the world of directing.

The decision to be behind the camera was prompted by his being a control freak and his wide imagination.

“In 2009, I went to New York Film Academy sa Abu Dhabi. I took a two-month short course in filmmaking. I got into directing kasi when I started acting, dun ko na-realize na mas interesado ako mag-direct… Kapag nakakakuha ako ng script, excited ako [so] binabasa ko yung buong script [tapos] nagawa [at] nabuo na yung teleserye sa utak ko,” he said.

Aside from his directorial work, he also started sharing what he knows about music by being a vocal coach. One of the artists under his care is the Kapuso group One Up.

“I train, I coach One Up [and} I think I’ll be vocal coaching some of the other artists,” he added.

Though he has a lot on his plate, Jeffrey doesn’t get stressed or overwhelmed because he’s enjoying all his professions.

He learned, and what he’s trying to inculcate in the new generation of artists, is to be brave and passionate about the work that they choose.

“Just do it, just keep creating music. I think that’s the only way you’ll learn and grow, by doing it. Do whatever feels right in your heart, in your mind, in your heart. The greatest lesson na naturo sa amin ni Mr. [Ryan Cayabyab] is this: ‘If you’re doing something and not enjoying anymore, stop it. You have to enjoy what you’re doing,”” he concluded.

No matter what he gets himself to, Jeffrey will always be singing as this is his first love. Tomorrow, he’s set to perform two songs on GMA’s online concert platform, the Playlist.
