It may sound cliché but Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa believes that “everything happens for a reason.”

Many thought that the Miss Philippines finalist would represent the country in the Miss Universe stage, but Kylie strut her way into the Miss International pageant and emerged as winner.

“Well, I feel honored [at] nakaka-touch na they think that. Kahit nag-question ka, may patutunguhan din pala or may greater plan Siya para sa iyo,” the 24-year-old beauty queen told Unang Hirit in an interview today, November 16.

Not much has changed since she claimed the title, but the new Miss International thinks she has loads of responsibilities to handle. “We are an ambassador of beauty and peace of the world so [we are] to promote peace and goodwill, and to promote Japan as well,” she explained.
 
The Baguio native will also work with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for its worldwide charities, “I will stay here for about a month or two until I fly to Japan and to the other countries I’ll be assigned to.”

The 2016 Miss International crown will be paraded around Araneta Center and other places in the metro on Friday, November 18.
