Read the MMFF Best Actor's full statement. 


Dabarkads Paolo Ballesteros bagged the much coveted Best Actor award for his role as Trisha in Die Beautiful in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival 2016. Because he wasn’t able to make it to the awards ceremony, he released a statement through his Instagram account.
 
In it, he noted how grateful he is for his Best Actor win in the Tokyo International Film Festival and his Special Jury Award for Outstanding Performance in the Kerala Film Festival in India . Being recognized in his home country, however, "gives a different kind of joy."

The Eat Bulaga co-host also expressed optimism for the LGBT community and the film’s reach.
