Jennica Garcia doesn't just have a split personality. She's also two-faced! Here she talks about her role as twins on Boys Nxt Door.
Some people may have different faces to each of their personalities. But in the case of Jennica Garcia and her role in Boys Nxt Door, each personality is sharing the same face -- hers! On Boys Nxt Door, Jennica Garcia plays the pessimistic Summer who’s the, more or less, perfect foil for the every bubbly Coffee (played by Kris Bernal). But the writers threw in a twist for the young actress -- and the viewers -- with the introduction of Winter, Summer’s more aggressive twin sister. “Magkaiba” is how Jennica describes her two characters in the Sunday afternoon program. “Mas strong ‘yung personality ni Winter. ‘Yung pananalita, mas matigas ‘'yung kay Winter. Tapos hindi siya nage-English.” But strong or not, how close are her characters to her in real life? “Si Summer kasi naniniwala sa hula, ako hindi!” Jennica answers without hesitation. “Si Winter naman, tomboyish. Basta kami ni Summer, salungat talaga.” Jennica reveals that it’s very difficult to play both characters -- especially when they’re in the same scene! “Ang hirap! Tumatagal ‘yung eksena. Tapos nakakahiya kapag may mali kang ginagawa, kasi lalong tumatagal.” She also adds that playing both Summer and Winter gives her a new appreciation for her Impostora co-star Sunshine Dizon. “Idol ko si Ate Shine (Sunshine Dizon). Tapos nung nagkaroon ako ng ganitong role, lalo ko pa siyang na-idolize.” But this doesn’t mean Jennica is giving up on the characters. In fact, the demands of her role only pushes her to strive harder for her roles. “Para sa akin, isa ‘tong challenge. And gusto kong maging magaling dito. Sana.” -- Text and Photos by Jason John S.
