"I was four years old when I first met Sir Ricky Lee, I wasn't an actress then. When my dad was chosen to be part of Ricky Lee's 12th scriptwriting workshop, since two lang kami ng dad ko sa buhay, he had no choice but to bring me with him sa workshop," Isabelle shared with GMANetwork.com in an exclusive interview.
This encounter, plus workshop stories from her father, inspired her to try her luck.
"Sabi ng dad ko, 'yung mga days niya sa workshop ay isa sa pinakamasaya at meaningful na part ng buhay niya. So I wanted to experience that myself. Isa po ako sa 5,000 na pumila, nag-submit ng story at nagbakasakaling matanggap."
Now she is one of the 32 aspirants that are being mentored by the award-winning screenwriter and novelist.
"I felt so happy nung tawagan po ako ni Sir Ricky that I'm officially a part of Batch 16! I'm truly grateful for this opportunity. Aside from his brilliance as a writer, he has such a beautiful soul. And to be able to experience that is such a wonderful, life-changing experience for me."
Best of luck, Isabelle!
