It’s the season to be jolly again as Enteng Kabisote invades Philippine cinemas one more time and brings tears of joy and hearty laughter to anyone who catches the much-awaited flick of the year. Text by Jessa Ericka C. Bien Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio The revered comedian Vic Sotto returns to the silver screen with Enteng Kabisote 4: Okay Ka Fairy Ko, The Beginning of a Legend, OctoArts Films and MZet TV Productions’ official entry to the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. Directed by the acclaimed Tony Reyes, this installment boasts of more fun and entertainment as individuals from the mortal world and Engkantasya once again join forces to battle the elements of evil. stars “Ito na talaga ang pinakabonggnag Enteng movie” movie star Vic says in a press release. “Mas interesting din ang story nito dahil may [mga] bagong twsits, na tiyak na papatok sa balana, lalo na sa mga bata” he adds. This time, the funny hero Enteng faces more challenges as foes wipe out his memory and use him for their wrongdoings. Amidst these problems, Prinsipe Inok (played by Michael de Mesa), Faye’s – also known as Chlorateam – (Kristine Hermosa) former lover, returns to take revenge and hopes to get his beloved back. A stronger legion of doom also comes into the picture. With the Dark Angel (Ian Veneracion), Dragon Lady (Francine Prieto ) and Blasting Man (Arthur Solinap) on the side of evil, the enemies become fiercer, more powerful and definitely more dangerous. But with the love and support of his beautiful fairy wife and his brave son Benok (Oyo Boy Sotto), Enteng travels back in time to undo the mishaps of his present and rediscovers the love story he and Faye shared. Adding more spice to the already flavorful movie are G Tongi (Ina Magenta), Peque Gallaga (the Time Lord), Caridad Sanchez, Ian de Leon, Carlos Agassi and Eunice ‘Charming’ Lagusad. Providing extra humor in the film are veteran comics Ruby Rodriguez (Amy), Jose Manalo and Candy Pangilinan. Movie-goers can also watch out for the special participation of Joey de Leon, Aiza Seguerra, Cristine Reyes and Jomari Yllana, and the launching of new faces Mikylla Ramirez and Gian Sotto. As always, Enteng Kabisote is perfect for the kids and the whole family to enjoy with its right blend of action, comedy, drama and fantasy. But more than the special effects and the laugh trip the movie provide, it also teaches values on equality, justice and love in a funny way, and successfully reaches out to its audience through humor.
