The alleged death of one of the country’s most polarizing political figure -- former first lady Imelda Marcos sent social media abuzz.

In fact, the name of the former first lady quickly trended on Twitter Philippines.

But the said news about her death is a hoax. The wrong information spread like wildfire on social media after actress/politician Lani Mercado-Revilla erroneously tweeted her condolences to the family of Mrs. Marcos.

Several news and showbiz websites were able to capture the wrong tweet of Mayor Lani Mercado.
