They may not have walked away with the title of Pinoy Pop Superstar during their seasons in the spotlight, but Brenan Espartinez and Aicelle Santos have kept themselves busy. They took a little time off to share the lessons they’ve learned from being in the contest. According to Aicelle, “Siguro, sa akin would be, number one, patience. Patience yun e, while waiting…sa mga rehearsals, and all those things we do, and siguro, since, hindi naman namin nakuha yung title, yung faith in God that he has a better plan for us.” Brenan, on the other hand, says, “Yung tipong, dapat, kahit anong mangyari, non-stop pa rin yung pag-aaral ng iba’t-ibang songs. At siyempre, kung ano gusto ng tao, iyon yung papanigan mo. Hindi pwedeng, kunwari, gusto mo itong genre lang na ito, e ang gusto ng mga masa e mga ballads, kailangan mong mag-sway kung san mga tao, para naman maapreciate yung ballads mo din.” When it comes to beauty essentials, the two contenders have opposite likes: Aicelle likes to keep it simple, saying that she’s not really into shopping. She just makes it a point to drink lots of water and get enough sleep. Brendan shares that he likes accessorizing, especially with “bling.” “Mga bling, mga ganyan. Mga mura-murang bling, kasi mahal ang totoong bling! Sa mga blazers, iyon din pinag-iipunan kong bilhin din ngayon, kasi, di ba, parang nagke-create din ako ng image ko, so parang nag-iinvest din ako sa damit.” The two are involved with various projects at the moment. “Si Michael at si Charmaine (also contenders in Pinoy Pop Superstar 1), kasama ko pong magpo-promote ng album namin, ‘BMC Brenan, Michael, Charmaine,’ under GMA records,” says Brenan. While Aicelle is still waiting for that “big break,” she’s keeping herself preoccupied with guestings and shows, such as her stints in SOP. Aicelle also loves to listen to R&B songs, while Brenan has a love for the classics, such as those sung in American Idol.
