Philippine Pride Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao accepted the controversial results of the Battle of Brisbane: Pacquiao versus Horn in favor of the undefeated Australian boxer Jeff Horn, scoring 115-113 via unanimous decision.
The Hornet was proclaimed as the new WBO Welterweight champion of the world at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane Australia yesterday (July 2).
In an Instagram post, Pacman is all smiles with his wife Jinkee Pacquiao as he wished the 29-year-old former school teacher well in his victory.
“Congratulations to Jeff Horn,” the People’s Champ said in his post, adding, “Tough fight, but win or lose, always know that I give everything I’ve got for the Lord, my family, my country, and my fans!”
The eight-division world champion also thanked his supporters and praised the Lord, “God is good!”
In an interview with Unang Hirit this morning, he also said however that he was disappointed in the officials and judges of the match, 'Dismayado ako sa mga officials, 'yung referee [at] judges. Makakasira sa imahe ng boxing."
Manny also said he is open to have a rematch with Horn, “Pag-uusapan, pag-uusapan pa iyan [ng Team Pacquiao].”
He also wants the fight to be held in the Philippines, and that there’s no retiring from boxing just yet.
