News broke out about the couple's engagement on September 8 this year, a week after the singer celebrated her 31st birthday. The proposal happened on the beautiful island of Boracay.

The two first met in a church through a common friend but it wasn't until June of the same year that Martin was first spotted on Rachelle's social media account.

In the video, Martin opened up about how he felt about Rachelle and why he is sure that she is the one. 

"First time I met Shin was in church, we had a mutual friend who introduced us there and... when I first saw her I thought she was really beautiful," opens Martin

"I never really like Googled her, like kinda looked her up online or anything like that I just thought it was great what she does, didn't really know much about it yet but I just want to see to know who she was and so that was my goal.

"Seeing her heart, seeing how she loves God, seeing the things that are important to her, how she loves her family... getting to know her and seeing that 'coz for me what's important is how we're gonna glorify God as a couple, how we're gonna be used by him and that's very important thing for me and I saw all that in her. So once I saw that I knew that I was gonna go for her and I didn't need to see anything else, so I just started pursuing her and getting to know her family and visiting here."

Rachelle also shared her thoughts and happiness over her wonderful blessing. "This feels like a dream. I feel like I'm floating. I wasn't really expecting this to happen. 

"Joaqui told me to dress up and curl my hair and I was like "Why?" And he said we were gonna go somewhere sweet and special. I was thinking, I was hoping, I was like 'Lord, when is he proposing?' I don't know 'coz we were talking about planning, you know planning the weddings and all that stuff, future, next year.  And I told him yesterday, 'You know what, we should really not talk about planning because we're not even engaged.' I feel so weird and I don't know maybe I was like trying to [give him a] hint 'c'mon propose now...but when he started shaking and like he was teary-eyed earlier I was like 'What?'

"My heart was beating so fast as well. I can't believe this. I feel so blessed," she said.

The couple have already named Teena Barretto as their wedding planner.
