Isabelle is the daughter of Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte with ex-wife Lovelie Sangkola Sumera.
The royal-like photo shoot was a hot topic online. It even landed on the top trending topics in Twitter Philippines.
Several netizens criticized Isabelle for doing the photo shoot inside the Palace.
People asking why we're salty about Isabelle Duterte's photoshoot. Malacanang is paid for by tax payers. We're paying for her photoshoot.

It's not that the photoshoot of Isabelle Duterte is illegal, it's just that rn, the poor are getting visibly poorer and the rich visibly more privileged, and the last thing we need to see is the President's grandaughter waltzing around the Palace in a blood red gown.

Meanwhile, others also defended the granddaughter of President Rodrigo Duterte.
People are so quick to say shit about @isabelleduterte's pre-debut shoot. She's the President's granddaughter, for God's sake! She has every right to stage a shoot inside the Palace. If you were in her shoes, do the same. Stop being such a hypocrite. We're not at all saints. ????????

Can people from Manila stop using 'promdi' to attack Isabelle Duterte, as if coming from the province means you're less educated, tacky, or poor.

A lot of noise on Isabelle Duterte's pre-debut shoot at Malacañang. But it is not unusual for presidential children to hold their debut parties or wedding at the Palace. Vicki Quirino held her debut and was wed at Malacañang.

I think we should spare Isabelle Duterte as well. Does she play an active role in his lolo's administration? Does she speak out in public to defend his lolo's murderous record? She's just doing what teens love to do - to be photographed looking beautiful. Is that too much?

In a report by GMA News Online, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stressed that he sees nothing wrong with Isabelle Duterte holding her pre-debut shoot inside Malacañang.
“Sa ’kin, wala namang masama doon. Nag-pose lang for birthday pictures 'yung apo ni Presidente sa Malacañang
“I don’t think it should be an issue. Kasi dapat nga nakatira sila sa Malacañang. Hindi naman sila tumitira sa Malacañang so gaya sila ng ordinaryong mamamayan na puwede ring magpicture-picture sa Malacañang,” he said.
