More than intrigues on his relationship with his Jen, questions on whether he is updated with his expected baby’s condition also hound Patrick.
Actor Patrick Garcia denies reports indicating that he planned to fly to the United States to let intrigues between him and former girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado cool down. In an interview with Startalk, the actor says he was only at home and never engaged in neither out-of-town nor out-of-the-country trips. stars“Sa bahay lang ako, tahimik lang,” he says. The actor’s sister, Cheska Garcia, reiterates Patrick’s statements by explaining why he cannot leave the country. “Patrick still has another soap [opera] and he’s still doing that show so it’s impossible for him to leave,” says Cheska. “And besides, meron pa naman siyang contract sa GMA so how can he leave?” Patrick is cast in the primetime drama Babangon Ako at Dudurugin Kita, where he plays Lawrence, a private investigator who wants to destroy the jeuteng industry in the country and will fall in love with Yasmien Kurdi’s character. Hindi ko alam 'yung bago niyang number,” he admits. “One time I called one of her friends to ask her the schedule of her check-ups para kahit hindi kami masyadong nag-uusap or ayaw niya akong kausapin, well, I just want to know some updates.” A Startalk exclusive feature showed that it will be possible to identify the baby’s gender in April. Patrick is then asked if he would be with Jen on the day their lovechild’s gender is recognized. “Sana nandoon ako—kung papayagan niya ako to be there,” he replies. “Siyempre I’m excited also. Once we find out the gender, 'di ko alam kung papayag siya sa mga ideas ko [with regards the name] pero she gets to decide. I’ll give her full control.” Patrick chose to keep his message for his child’s mother private, and says “if there’s something, any problem at all, mas maganda kung harap-harap kaming mag-uusap.”
