Several Kapuso programs and personalities were recently honored by various award-giving bodies.

GMA News pillar Jessica Soho, widely regarded as the most awarded broadcast journalist in the country, added another feather to her cap after becoming the first-ever recipient of the Outstanding Media Practitioner award at the third Gawad Midya by the De La Salle University's Student Media Office last August 30.

GMA Resident meteorologist Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz, on the other hand, was given the Dangal ng Lipi Award by the Provincial Government of Bulacan last September 15. The Dangal ng Lipi Award is the highest recognition given by the Bulacan government to a Bulakenyo who has excelled in his profession. Mang Tani was the recipient under the field of Arts and Culture - Journalism.

At the first “Bantog: The Science for the People Media Awards” by the Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) last September 28, News and Public Affairs personality Connie Sison was conferred the Professional Award for Media Practitioner in Television for her program Pinoy MD.

At the same time, GMA Public Affairs' Social Media Section was chosen to receive the Institutional Award for Cyber Press.

The “Bantog: The Science for the People Media Awards” recognizes the important role of media practitioners on TV, Radio, TV, and Online, as well as in government and private practice who made significant contributions in promoting science and technology information in the country through outstanding science reporting and coverage.

Various Kapuso personalities and programs were also honored at the 2018 COMGUILD Media Awards, taking home several honors both for television and radio categories.

GMA News pillar Vicky Morales won as the Most Outstanding Female News Presenter of the Year for the Network's flagship newscast24 Oras.

Marisol Abdurahman was conferred the Best Female Field Reporter of the Year.

Kapuso Prime Actor and Victor Magtanggol lead star Alden Richards was recognized as the Most Popular Television Personality of the Year.

The country's leading and longest-running morning TV show, Unang Hirit, once again emerged as the Best Morning Show.

Weekly infotainment show I-Bilib was recognized anew as the Best Educational Program while its host, Kapuso personality Chris Tiu, received the Best Educational Program Host award.

Meanwhile, GMA News TV's lifestyle show Taste Buddies is this year's Best Lifestyle Program. Its hosts, Solenn Heussaff and Rhian Ramos, also took home the Best Lifestyle Program Host award.

For the radio category, GMA News pillar Mike Enriquez was once again recognized as the Best AM Radio Anchor while DZBB's SuperBalita sa Umaga was named as the Best AM Radio Program.

Barangay LS 97.1's Barangay Love Stories, on the other hand, won as the Best FM Radio Program.

This year's winners at the COMGUILD Media Awards were chosen by a board of judges comprised of college deans, chairpersons, and some members of the academe from different universities.
