ABS-CBN's Ces Drilon posted on Twitter her thoughts about the libel charges that Gretchen Fullido filed against her. "Again I would never belittle any woman coming out to speak of any abuse against her. It is against everything I stand for as a woman."

ABS-CBN journalist Ces Drilon took to Twitter today, October 6, to deny the accusations made by showbiz anchor Gretchen Fullido against her.

Gretchen, a former UAAP courtside reporter, filed libel charges against Drilon and two others for allegedly destroying her reputation.

Read the statement of Atty. Marivin Aceron on Facebook about Gretchen's criminal case against Ces Drilon.

“Fullido also filed libel cases against two news executives of ABS-CBN, Cecilia Drilon and Venancio Borromeo, news reporter Marie Lozano, alleging that the three besmirched her reputation when they stated that she filed a similar sexual harassment complaint against Favila and Asprec with ABS-CBN management to leverage her employment status with ABS-CBN.

“Fullido in her Complaint Affidavit also said Drilon resorted to victim shaming and imputed statements that Fullido deserved to be harassed, since Fullido allegedly was willing to wear a bikini with an inflatable pool with bubbles to shove up the ratings of TV Patrol, a leading daily news program.”

The veteran broadcast journalist couldn't hide her disappointment that Gretchen Fullido made such horrible accusations against her.

“It pains me to have to issue this statement because women should support each other especially in an issue like sexual harassment.

“Throughout my life, I have been an advocate of women's right and women's empowerment. As a victim of sexual harassment once before, it is unthinkable for me to say what Gretchen Fullido alleges I did.”

Ces added that she is also considering legal proceedings to address this issue.

“I reserve the right to consider legal proceedings against these false allegations and attack on my reputation.

“Again I would never belittle any woman coming out to speak of any abuse against her. It is against everything I stand for as a woman.”
