Kapuso shows win at 40th Catholic Mass Media Awards

GMA Network took home a total of 10 trophies at the 40th Catholic Mass Media Awards yesterday, November 14, at the Star Theatre in Pasay City.

Top-rating weekly show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho was named the Best News Magazine while State of the Nation with Jessica Soho was hailed as the Best News Program.

Unang Hirit's Holy Land Coverage won the Best Special Event Coverage. The Atom Araullo Specials bagged the Best Adult Education/Cultural Program.


Drew Arellano's AHA brought home the Best Children and Youth Program.

GMA-7's anthology shows Dear Uge and Stories for the Soul bagged the Best Comedy Program and Best Religious Program respectively.

GMA News TV's Wagas won the Best Drama Series/Program while Double A sa Double B took home the Best News Commentary.

GMA Network station ID Buong Puso Para sa Kapuso bagged the Best Station ID.

Furthermore, a special citation for Best News program was given to RTV Balitang Bisdak for the comprehensive coverage of the burial of Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal.


The Catholic Mass Media Awards was established by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin in 1978 to recognize shows that promote Christian values through communication.
