What is Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray's message to her kababayans this Christmas?

Pinay pride Catriona Gray shared her innermost feelings via Instagram a week after she took home the Miss Universe title.

In her post, Catriona said it was a huge honor to represent the Philippines in such a prestigious pageant.

“ONE WEEK AGO TODAY Philippines, what an honour it was to carry your name across my heart. @missuniverse”

She also stressed that Christmas this 2018 is truly special since she was able to make millions of her kababayans happy after winning the 4th crown of the Philippines in Miss Universe.

“I am grateful for so, so much. This year all my prayers were answered. More so, I am so thankful I get to be with my loving parents and through Ms Universe, be able to bring joy to 104 million Filipinos this Christmas.

“Maligayang Pasko Philippines! Mahal ko kayo #MissUniverse”

The first Filipina to win the prestigious title was Gloria Diaz in 1969. Four years later Margie Moran (1973) bagged the title.

Meanwhile, Pia Wutzbach's win in 2015 ended the 42-year title drought of the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant.
