Dubbed as the original Bad Boy from his first moments on the silver screen, Robin Padilla somehow made the “bad” seem oh-so-good. After starring in countless blockbuster films, Robin conquers the small screen with his special brand of action in GMA’s Asian Treasures. The primetime series has been receiving much buzz largely because of Robin’s undoubtedly electrifying presence, adding a lustrous movie-like quality to the show. The veteran actor welcomed the change from movies to television and did not find it too difficult to adjust to the dimensions of his new role. And, that is exactly what Robin does, onscreen and off-screen. The action star is a stickler for the safety of his co-stars and the cast, in general. Masakit yun e!” asian treasures Angel’s devoted fans will be glad to know that Robin is a consummate gentleman and a dream partner to work with. Considerate and caring, it is no wonder that many hearts have fallen for this sweet but tough guy. Despite his superstar status, Robin is kept grounded by virtue of his own humble beginnings and a deep respect for the brilliance of the cast and crew of Asian Treasures. No movie star diva-ness has seeped into his bloodstream at all. He is, of course, referring to the likes of Eddie Garcia, Joonie Gamboa, Ronaldo Valdez, Caridad Sanchez, and Jaime Fabregas. Bigwig names that are sure to provide depth to the series. He does not scrimp on his compliments when it comes to the young stars too. It is not surprising that the ambience on the set of Asian Treasures is one of comfortable camaraderie and professionalism. With the demanding work schedule and the physical rigors that they undergo, trusting each other is a must. Robin Padilla unwittingly sets the tone, a skill or maybe a talent, born out of years of experience both inside & outside of showbiz. Our hero admits to his past faults, about how easy it was to live up to the “Bad Boy” image. But he does not let his past define his present or his future. With his words and through his work, Robin Padilla proves that he is not Bad, nor is he a Boy. Text by KC M. Abalos. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. Catch Robin weeknights on Asian Treasures!
