Derek Ramsay clears the name of his 'The Better Woman' leading lady, Andrea Torres, from the breakup issue with longtime girlfriend Joanne Villablanca.

“That's unfair. That's not fair.”

Ito ang paulit-ulit na sinabi ni Derek Ramsay nang mabanggit ang pangalan ni Andrea Torres sa isyu ng hiwalayan nila ng kanyang longtime girlfriend na si Joanne Villablanca.

Hindi kasi naiwasan ng ilan na iugnay si Andrea sa pagtatapos ng anim na taong relasyon nina Derek at Joanne dahil kasama ng actor ang una sa bagong GMA primetime series, ang The Better Woman.

Sa ginanap na media conference ng programa kagabi, June 27, nilinaw ng bagong Kapuso actor na walang kinalaman si Andrea sa breakup nila ng kanyang girlfriend.

Pahayag ni Derek, “Ako, ang gusto ko lang sabihin, none of these should be asked to Andrea because she's not involved in this.

“I'm not also the type of guy that likes to use gimmicks to promote the project.

“So, I really wish na dapat mag-stop na ang isyung 'yan because it's unfair for her.

“It's unfair for her, na wala namang kinalaman sa nangyari.

“It's my relationship, so all the questions should be directed to me.”

Sinubukan ding iwasan ni Derek na sumagot sa tanong kung may pagkakataong magkaroon siya nang malalim na relasyon sa kanyang leading lady sa The Better Woman.

Sabi niya, “She has all the characters of somebody that I'd fall for.

“Especially the fact that she loves her family, that's something I admire about her.

“Pero bumitaw din ako ng salita, ayaw ko ng showbiz.

“I'm not calling her showbiz, but in show business there's pressure.

“But you see, I don't know. I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable especially now with our project.

“But if she's somebody I'm attracted to, not just physically, yes she's a wonderful woman.”

Sa ngayon, ayon kay Derek, sinusubukan pa rin niyang mag-move on mula sa hiwalayan nila ni Joanne.

“You have to move on,” aniya.

“It's sad kasi hindi lang isang tao ang nawala sa buhay ko, dalawa.

“It's not easy especially the plans that we have for each other.”

Patuloy pa niya, “It's sad that it didn't work out between me and Joanne.

“She has a new direction in her life. She's found, I think, what she's really passionate about.

“Ito talaga ang gusto niya. Just think of it, I lost two people, two special people.”

Nilinaw din ng aktor na hindi dahil tahimik siya ay wala siyang nararamdamang sakit na sanhi ng pangyayari.

Sabi ni Derek, “Alam n'yo naman, you've covered all my relationships. I'm like the commitment type of guy.

“My relationships were four years, five years, six years.

“You think it's just easy for me to just let go of people like that?”

Para kay Derek, minabuti niyang huwag magsalita tungkol sa hiwalayan para protektahan ang mga taong minamahal nila ni Joanna.

“Just because I am quiet, it doesn't mean I'm not hurting. I've been very open to all of you,” aniya.

Dagdag katuwiran pa niya, “Pinalaki ako to be a gentleman, I'm not gonna do anything. I'm not saying I'm gonna talk bad about her.

“I don't wanna talk because it affects so many people--her daughter, herself, my son, her family, my family.

“I've always been that guy that respects everyone because hindi lang naman ako, e.

“In six years of relationship between people, we've created a bond with each other's families.

“In our case, her daughter, who I loved like my own, and my son.

“So, it's not easy to let go especially, probably, this is the most serious relationship that I've ever had.”

Sa huli, dinaan ni Derek sa biro ang nararamdamang kalungkutan, “I have this huge house I'm building now and I'm gonna be the only one living there.”
