Beginning tonight, ang Pinoy boxer sa komiks na pinasikat noon ni Carlo J. Caparas ay muli na namang matutunghayan this time sa GMA Telebabad block.
Talaga namang wala ng makakapigil sa GMA-7 from producing world-class quality programs as it brings to life the most exciting and highly awaited Carlo J. Caparas's series on television--Totoy Bato. Originally created for the comics by Carlo J. Caparas, Totoy Bato became a blockbuster movie noong 1977. Portraying the title role was the King of Philippine Movies, Fernando Poe Jr. Ngayong 2009, ibinabalik ng GMA si Totoy Bato with no less than the original Bad Boy of Philippine cinema, Robin Padilla, portraying the much loved boxer. Joining Robin in Totoy Bato, is Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez who will be Totoy Bato’s love interest, Anna; multi-awarded actor Eddie Garcia as Totoy’s coach Fredo, and international boxer Manny Pacquiao, as Totoy’s close friend and trainer. Also featured in the program are veteran actors Ian Veneracion as Miguel, ang mahigpit na kalaban ni Totoy sa puso ni Anna; Caridad Sanchez as Concha, ang religious na lola ni Miguel; Joonee Gamboa as Mauro, Totoy’s kind-hearted uncle; Ronnie Lazaro as Podong, ang ex-convict at abusive na tatay ni Totoy; Rommel Padilla as Manuel, Miguel’s brother; and Deborah Sun as Matilda, ang mukhang perang nanay ni Anna.
Completing the cast are Ehra Madrigal as Trixie, isang guest relations officer na in love kay Totoy; Jolo Revilla as Andong, kaibigan ni Totoy; LJ Reyes as Gilette, ang pinsan ni Anna; Tuesday Vargas as Connie, Anna’s assistant; Mon Confiado as Turko, isang former military man na magiging pinaka-mabigat na kalaban ni Totoy; Sweet Ramos as Cecilia, ang kakaisang anak ni Totoy; Ralph Padilla as Steve, ang assistant ni Totoy; Ara Mina in a special role as Elena, ang asawa ni Totoy; and introducing Queenie Padilla as Heather, ang anak ng haciendero na kakamkam sa lupa ni Totoy.
