Ngayong araw, October 4 ang unang taping day ni Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado para sa Philippine adaptation ng hit South Korean series na Descendants of the Sun.
Si Jennylyn kasi ang napili bilang ang lead star nitong si Dr. Maxine dela Cruz, o Dr. Maxine Kang sa original version ng serye na ginampanan naman ng top Korean actress na si Song Hye Kyo.
Kasama niya sa eksena si Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes na gaganap naman bilang Capt. Lucas Manalo o "Big Boss."
Ang eksenang ito ang unang pagkikita ng kanilang mga karakter sa serye.
Kahapon, October 3, kinumpira ang partisipasyon ni Jennylyn sa serye kasabay ng kanyang basic life support training sa Armed Forces of the Philippines Health Service Command (AFPHSC).
Bukod kina Dingdong at Jennylyn, bahagi din ng cast sina Rocco Nacino, Jasmine Curtis Smith, Paul Salas, Lucho Ayala, Jon Lucas at marami pang iba.
