Sa pag-anunsyo ng bagong Miss Universe Philippines pageant ngayong taon, marami-rami ang nagtatanong kay Kapuso actress and former beauty queen Winwyn Marquez kung may plano siyang sumali sa gaganaping pageant ngayong May 2020.

Sa pamamagitan ng Instagram story, nilinaw ni Winwyn, “I am not joining Miss Universe Philiippines.”

Dagdag paliwanag pa niya, “I still have an existing contract and I have to honor it.

“But please know that I am very happy kung nasaan ako ngayon and sa path na pipiliin ko for myself but thank you so much sa mga messages niyo sa akin. Nakakataba ng puso.”

Noong 2017, kinoronahan si Winwyn bilang Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas sa naganap na Miss World Philippines competition nung taong iyon.

Sa international stage, nagtagumpay si Winwyn bilang Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 sa Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

Siya ang kauna-unahang Filipina at Asyano na nakakuha ng koronang ito.

Bago pa man ang kanyang Miss World Philippines stint, sumali rin si Winwyn sa Binbining Pilipinas noong 2015, kung saan ni-represent niya ang siyudad ng Parañaque.

Nag-uwi siya ng tatlong awards: Best National Costume, Miss Talent, at “She's so JAG” Award. Isa rin siya sa 15 finalists ng kompetisyon.

I am eternally grateful and joyful at this moment and the many moments this past year! My reign as Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 has been filled with wondrous experiences. Experiences that transformed my life in meaningful ways I never imagined could even be possible. This is such an unforgettable journey made more memorable by the warmth, friendship, and wisdom of amazing people from various walks of life and different cultures. Having known a great many of them made me realize how my life right now can empower people toward the fruition of their dreams and aspirations. Children, in particular, will always have a special place in my heart. I strongly believe the value of education can stand on firmer ground by strengthening the family.This may be a tall order given society's varying circumstances but we should at least dream and work for a better future for the human family. My reign may end but my journey toward helping create a better world for the little ones has just begun. To all of you, I am grateful for the blessing of your friendship and love. Ayon sa reports, gaganapin ang Miss Universe Philippines ngayong Mayo, sa SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Mapapanood si Winwyn kasama sina Michelle Dee at Thia Thomalla sa Glow Up, tuwing Linggo, sa GMA News TV.
