Award-winning broadcaster and news pillar Mike Enriquez renews his contract with GMA Network.
Highly-respected and multi-awarded news anchor and radio host Mike Enriquez renewed his contract with the Kapuso Network this Thursday morning, February 6.
The GMA News pillar has been with the leading TV network for more than two decades already.
Present during the contract renewal were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, and SVP for News and Public Affairs Marissa L. Flores.

In an interview after the event, Mike said that the contract signing is a symbol that he and GMA-7 has the same goals, which is to provide “serbisyong totoo” to our fellow Kapuso.
Mike added that he is staying put in GMA-7 forever. “Every time na may pirmahan ng contract, e, masaya.
“Masayang okasyon, masayang makabuluhang okasyon kasi bukod sa pagiging kasunduan para sa simbolo ng kontrata, simbolo ng pagtitiwala nung management ng GMA sa akin at sa tiwala ko sa management ng GMA.
“Kasi, ibig sabihan nun magkaprehas kung tawagin, aligned kami ng mga adhikain namin, ng values sa pagbibigay ng serbisyong totoo kaya masaya.”
“Dito na ako tumanda, dito na ako inoperahan sa puso at lahat-lahat, wala nang iwanan 'to!”
Aside from being a Radio GMA executive, Mike is also busy as dzBB Super Radyo anchor and host of two programs, 24 Oras and Imbestigador.
Despite busy schedule, Mike doesn't mind the amount of work he has to deal with because he considers everything as a blessing.
“'Yan ang gusto ko na mangyari, hindi lang sa atin pero sa lahat, 'yung busy, 'yung marami kang ginagawa, marami kang pinagkakatiwalaan.
“Ibig sabihin nun maraming responsibilidad na pinagkatiwala sa 'yo. Hindi lang 'yung mga amo, pati rin nung mga taong katrabaho mo. So, blessing ito.”
LOYAL KAPUSO
Meanwhile, Mr. Gozon praised Mike for his “unquestionable loyalty” to GMA Network and he looks forward to working with him in the years to come.
“Si Mike Enriquez ay matagal na dito sa GMA. In fact, ang loyalty niya at ang loyalty ng GMA sa kanya are unquestionable!
“Hindi lamang 'yun, si Mike is already an institution at siya ay isa sa mga pinakadisenteng journalist at anchor man na nakilala ko sa broadcasting.
“At tama, itong pirmahan namin is just a formality. Actually, we don't need a contract with Mike, puwede kaming walang contract.
“That's how intimate our relationship has been at ako ay talagang umaasa na matagal pa kami magsasama ni Mike at marami pang magagawa, the two of us.”
For his part, Mr. Duavit expressed his admiration to the GMA News pillar for being an inspiration and good example to everyone.
He said, “Tayo naman, we don't see our home without Mike, so 'yung pagka-formality lamang alam naman po natin lahat na well we are all good friends, there is this admiration for Mike as a co-worker.
“Maging sa radyo, maging sa news sa Public Affairs tanyag [siya] at isang inspirasyon at ehemplo sa atin lahat.
“So, we don't see life without Mike and we are grateful and happy that he sees it the same way also. ”
Mike Enriquez holds the distinction as the only Asian and only Filipino to win the Best Newscaster award in the Asian Television Awards.
