Rachelle Ann Go on her breakthrough role

What struggles did Rachelle Ann have to go through before her international musical theater career took off? Plus, get a glimpse of her beautiful home here.

In a recent episode of Tunay na Buhay, Rachelle Ann Go welcomed host Pia Arcangel to their beautiful home and shared the inspiring story of how she began her career as an international theater actress.

Rachelle Ann revealed that she originally auditioned for the lead role in the West End revival of Miss Saigon back in 2014, and didn't hear from the company for almost one year.

“Sabi ko baka wala na, hindi ko na nakuha (yung role).”

But after 11 months, she finally got a callback, and they were encouraging her to audition for another role.

Rachelle Ann confessed that she was very hesitant to audition for the role of Gigi Van Tranh, as it would require her to wear revealing costumes since that character is a bar girl.

It took her almost two weeks to say yes. And when she flew to London for the final audition, they immediately offered her the role the next day.

Rachelle Ann narrated, “Kailangan na rin ako mag-decide at that time. Kahit takot ako, ginawa ko pa rin, 'cause feeling ko magbubukas lahat ng pinto para sa akin out there.”
