iKON BI negative in drug test

BI, the former member of K-Pop group iKON, has reportedly tested out as negative for drug use.

A sigh of relief has been aired out by fans from all over the world as former iKON member BI had reportedly tested negative for illegal drugs.

This was announced by news outlet Sports World after the drug test results through Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency revealed that BI tested negative in the drug tests.

The police said that his body hair was sent to the National Forensic Service for examination and found that no illegal drug substances were detected.

According to healthline.com a hair follicle drug test screens for illicit drug use and the misuse of prescription medication. During the test, a small amount of hair is removed and analyzed for drug use during the 90 days preceding the test.

The test is used for the detection of amphetamine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine, PCP, and opioids like codeine, morphine, and 6-acetyl morphine.

It was on June 12, 2019 when BI announced his departure from K-Pop group iKON after news agency Dispatched unearthed his messages from three years prior, outlining his attempt to purchase marijuana and LSD from an undisclosed female dealer.

He then posted a letter on Instagram revealing the messages were true and explained that he was going through a tough time and wanted something to rely on. However, he denied taking any drugs.

That same day, iKON's agency, YG Entertainment terminated his contract.

Back in the spotlight

On January 2, 2020, BI released a personal song titled “Demo 1” on his SoundCloud account.

The singer wrote beautiful yet haunting lyrics about how he felt about his situation and that he dreams of one day gaining the trust of his fans once again.

The lyrics, as translated in English, read: “After waking up from a long dream, I felt like living thanks to you / I couldn't tell you these words, treated heartlessly 'til the end / This thing called 'farewell,' I can't get used to it / I hope this is not the end, I have to see you again.”

Early this month, he threw social media into a frenzy after he posted a series of photos of himself on Lab 5GAM's Instagram account.

The caption read, “Saying hello! I wanted to see you for a long time. I haven't seen you for a long time. Thank you for doing so well.

“Don't cry for me. As you wish… as you think… as you dream.”

Lab 5Gam is a Korean perfumery store created and owned by BI's mother.
