Senator Migz Zubiri on Thursday gave an update on his health days after he confirmed that he tested positive.
The senator's case is the first high-profile case in the country.
In an exclusive video interview with 24 Oras, the senator related that he's doing fine and he coordinates with the experts during his recovery.
“Alam mo kagabi hirap na hirap ako matulog dahil kasi siyempre that was the first day yesterday. First day po namin malaman na ako po'y positive. Medyo ninerbyos ako.
“Pero sinabi naman ni Sec. Duque sa 'kin basta malakas ang katawan ko, malakas reistensiya ko, okay naman po tayo.
“Today okay naman I feel okay. Wala din po akong fever,” he said.
The senator also shared some facts on how the virus incubates in an infected person's body.
“Ito daw 'yung 7th and 8th day kung saan 'yung virus daw na-incubate sa loob mo and hopefully, accordingly it goes to your lungs. So I'm monitoring my breathing,” he added.
As of the moment, the politician still can't figure out how did he contract the disease but rest assured that he didn't catch the virus during his vacation in Hong Kong in January.
“Tinanong ko nga ang mga doktoor about that. Sabi nila, there's no such virus that can stay in your system for two and a half months. Sabi niya wala na 'yun,” he noted.
“That was the time na wala pang COVID outbreak na malaki sa China, wala pang lockdown, wala pang travel ban.
“Feeling ko natamaan po ako ng virus dahil nitong huling linggo sa Senado napakaraming bisita,” he added.
Meanwhile, senators Win Gatchalian and Nancy Binay tested negative on COVID-19 after undergoing a self-quarantine when a resource person who attended the same senate hearing with them was reported positive for the case.
Effective March 17, President Rodrigo Duterte imposed a Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine where the public was required to do home quarantine in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease.
Suspension of all public gatherings and operation of establishments are some of the rules implemented under the law.
