On their first project together Richard Gutierrez and Cristine Reyes talk about their movie at kung anong naramdaman nila while filming 'Patient X'.
Richard Gutierrez teams up for the first time with Cristine Reyes--pero hindi lang ito ang dapat abangan sa pinakabagong horror film from GMA Films, VIVA Films and RGUTZ Productions. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. "Kinilabutan ako nung naka-eksena ko si Cristine." 'Yan ang statement ni Richard Gutierrez sa press conference ng Patient X last October 15. Richard continued, "sino ba naman ang hindi [maapektuhan], 'di ba?" The actor went on to say that anyone would be attracted, would be stunned, by the beauty of Cristine Reyes. "Kaya nung first time nga namin magka-eksena, first time kong mag-buckle sa buong pelikula." Kaya nga when asked for what viewers should watch out for in the movie, Richard said, "abangan nila 'yun siguro 'yung first time na makikita kaming dalawa ni Cristine on one screen." Flattering for Cristine—pero the actress doesn't want to be the focus of the movie's hype. "Hindi lang kaming dalawa ni 'Chard." Cristine explained that everyone else is just as captivating, just as effective sa mga roles na ginampanan nila sa movie. "'yung dalawang brothers [ni Richard], sina Rocky and Elvis; and siyempre si Miriam Quiambao, si TJ Trinidad ." For Cristine, even the story could stand on its own regardless of the actors behind the character. "Abangan niyo, 'yung sobrang kakaibang horror movie na gagawin ng Pinoy." Just how scary is the material? Kuwento ni Cristine, "pag nagbabasa ako ng script, hindi ko siya binabasa mag-isa." "Matatakutin talaga ako," Cristine admitted. "Nung binabasa ko 'yung Patient X mag-isa sa car, hindi ko kinaya!" Kuwento nga ng lead star na si Richard, "'Yung first na binasa ko 'yung script ni Direk Yam, talagang perfect siya." He continued, "talagang nakakatakot and it's fast-paced, and it's totally different from my last horror movie (Sigaw)." Sure na sure ang dalawa sa material nila that they both wouldn't be surprised kung, gaya ng Sigaw, ay makakuha ng maraming international acclaim ang Patient X. "Proud ako," Crisitine said. And if the movie does gain international fame, she would be even more proud. "Maganda para sa Pilipinas 'yun e—lalong-lalo na kung mananalo tayo [ng mga awards]." As for Richard, he said he doesn't want to think about it yet. Though if the movie does get a chance to compete in international festivals, "iniisip ko 'yung prestige na kasama pag na-compete namin. 'Yung mapansin 'yung quality film na ginawa namin? 'Yung pinaghirapan namin na istorya?" "Sana ," Richard finished. Cristine continues, "sana suportahan niyo po 'yung Patient X, sa October 28 na po yan." Patient X also stars Dion Ignacio, Paulo Avelino, Che Ramos and Jhake Vargas.
