Veteran actor Christopher de Leon expressed his gratitude to all of The Medical City's medical frontliners who took care of him during his treatment for COVID-19 last March.
In a video obtained by GMANetwork.com, the actor commended the healthcare workers' bravery and dedication to help the country fight the deadly coronavirus.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng mga frontliner.
“Sa lahat ng mga pinapakita n'yong tapang, dedication sa inyong sinumpaan, to save lives, sa inyong kabayanihan, maraming salamat po.
“To all the doctors, nurses, staff at 'yung mga nagdi-disinfect ng mga areas, salamat po,” he said.
Christopher also recalled his personal experience on battling the disease.
“When I was in the hospital, in Medical City, nakita ko ang inyong dedication, kindness, love, and compassion sa akin at I'm sure ganu'n din sa iba,” he said.
The actor then uplifted the modern heroes' morale by emphasizing their worldly purpose.
“God said all things work together for good for those who love God and called according to his purpose. Ito po ang purpose ninyo, to save lives.
“Ito ang sinumpaan ninyo, so God will give all of you protection, wisdom, patience, knowledge, strength, courage. He will give you all of this.
“Don't worry, God is ready to eliminate this virus. Thank you very much and God bless us all,” he added.
Christopher confirmed that he contracted the disease on March 17 in a lengthy post on Instagram.
On March 25, his wife Sandy Andolong welcomed the actor home after his full recovery from the disease.

Meanwhile, in an effort to further strengthen the fight against COVID-19, The Medical City partnered with the Valenzuela local government for mass testing.
The Medical City is one of the 11 hospitals which received a Stage 5 level accreditation from the Department of Health to conduct confirmatory COVID-19 tests.
The localized targeted mass testing for the coronavirus disease started on Black Saturday, April 11.
