Amid the growing concerns on the coronavirus pandemic, K-pop boy group BTS has decided to completely reschedule the Map of the Soul Tour.

A few hours after releasing the trailer of their upcoming docu-series “Break the Silence,” K-pop boy group BTS has announced that they will be rescheduling their “Map of the Soul” tour due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement was made by BTS's agency, Big Hit Entertainment, who shared that the group has completely rescheduled the tour as soon as it becomes clear when the situation goes to normal.

It said, “The decision has been made to completely reschedule the 'Map of the Soul' tour, originally scheduled to begin in April 2020.

“With the global proliferation of COVID-19, the tour's Seoul performances were previously canceled in February with the subsequent postponement of the North American leg of the tour in March. Ticket sales for the European and Japanese performances are imminent.”

Furthermore, the tour will involve the participation of staff and crew from around the world which will impact the tour due to the current strict restrictions on cross-border movement.

With that being said, the agency said it is “impossible at this time to predict when the first performance marking the start of the tour will be able to begin.

Adding, “Big Hit Entertainment will completely reschedule the tour and provide a new tour schedule to our fans as soon as it becomes clear when the tour can begin. This may require considerable time as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve.”

The “Map of the Soul” tour was originally set to begin in Seoul on April 11, 12, 18, and 19, but the concerts were canceled due to the public concerns over COVID-19.

In the meantime, their third documentary “Break the Silence” will be released on the WeVerse app on May 12 at 8 pm Philippine Standard Time. They will also be appearing in the virtual ceremony of the annual “Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together” on May 2nd.

If that's not enough, BTS has also been updating their fans through other social media channels like Twitter, VLive, and YouTube.
