BTS V and Jungkook

The phrase "Mahal ko kayo" seemed familiar to BTS members V and Jungkook as they encountered it in a surprise live video.

BTS member V and Jungkook delighted their fans as they went on a surprise live video on streaming app V Live yesterday, May 5.

The two practiced making paper carnations, a traditional gift for Parent's Day which Korea celebrates on May 8.

While scrolling through the comments, V noticed the phrase "Mahal ko kayo."

"Mahal ko kayo. What is that?" he asks.

"It sounds familiar," Jungkook answers.

The two went on the repeat the phrase, trying to recall what it means.

"Does it mean 'I love you?'" Jungkook ponders.

While unsure of the phrase's meaning, they admit that they heard it a lot and even said it a few times on tour.

"Mahal ko kayo. Does this mean 'I love you?' It means 'I like you,' doesn't it? We said it during our tour," V says.

"Yes we did when we were on tour," Jungkook agreed.

Watch the boys create paper carnations and discuss "Mahal ko kayo" in their two-part video.

BTS was recently hailed the 'Favorite Music Group' at the first ever virtual ceremony of the 2020 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

The group is also set to release a documentary called "Break the Silence" on May 12 via the WeVerse app.
