International singer Michael Bublé shares why his grandfather entrusted his home to their Filipina caretaker before he passed away.
Canadian singer Michael Bublé has a soft spot for Filipinos, and so does his grandfather who made a generous gift to his Filipina caretaker before passing away in 2018.
In an episode of HGTV's home renovation program Property Brothers' episode Celebrity IOU, Michael paid tribute to his grandfather by fulfilling his final wish of providing a home for his caretaker Minette.
In the said episode, Michael turned his grandfather's 1970's style home into a contemporary sanctuary for Minette and her family.

During the episode, Michael also mentioned that Minnete sent most of her salary to her family in the Philippines, so presenting her a home would ensure she didn't have to worry about paying rent anymore.
He also revealed that he personally hired Minette for his grandfather, "The greatest moments of my life happened here.
"The songs I learned and the style of music I fell in love with, they all happened here.
"I hired Minette, the nurse, to come and live with [my grandfather] and by the end, [she] was his best friend.
Michael added, "Minette never does anything for herself, and I think my grandpa would be thrilled knowing we could maybe lessen her burden a little bit and continue having Minette help her family."
He decided to keep the gift a secret and told Minette they would be filming a documentary.
Upon surprising Minette, Michael said, "My grandfather, his greatest wish was not just that I kept this house in the family, but it was that this would be your home 'cause he loved you so much, and so there is no documentary, this is all for you."
"Minette is really a special, beautiful woman.
"My grandpa would be so happy. Giving her this house would have been his dream."
