K-pop idol IU surprised a small group of her fans by holding an impromptu question-and-answer interview.

Fans were invited by the singer's management in the pretense of filming a video for IU's birthday. But they were the ones who ended up being surprised when she showed up at the location!

IU then sat down and let the fans ask her some questions.

One of the fans asked what kind of music she wants to try.

"A trot song. I really want to sing it someday. I'm familiar with trot songs since I was a kid. My dad likes trot songs so much," she says.

Trot is genre of popular Korean music which features vocal inflections and repetitive rhythm

IU also revealed one of her habits before going to bed.

"Right before bed, I got a foot spa machine. My feet get warm, the infrared heat works. I workout like this standing up," she says as she slightly twists from side to side.

"Then I sweat. It helps me sleep well if my feet get warm," she continues.

IU recently released her new song "Eight" which features BTS's Suga.

She revealed that the song is about precious memories as well as a commemoration of her state of mind as a 28-year-old.
