Bryan was among the returning overseas Filipino workers who had to be quarantined and be tested for COVID-19, as a precautionary measure mandated by the national government, before heading back home.

Bryan, who played for the Japanese volleyball team Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler, arrived in the country last May 15.

In an report by tiebreakertimes.com, Bagunas said, "'Yung sabi three to four days lalabas 'yung result ng swab test at puwede na kami umuwi, kaso mag-seven days na wala pa ring update."

Bryan Bagunas was instrumental in the campaign of the Philippine team in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games to bring home the silver medal in the men's volleyball competition.
