In a statement, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. confirmed the passing of his father Ramon Revilla, Sr. due to heart failure on June 26.
It is a difficult day for the Revilla clan after their patriarch, ex-senator Ramon Revilla, Sr., died at the age of 93.
Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. shared on his Facebook account an official statement where he confirmed that the showbiz icon succumbed to heart failure on Friday afternoon, June 26.
“After 93 full years, our father former Senator Ramon Revilla, Sr. succumbed to heart failure at 5:20 this afternoon. He is now free from physical pain and is in the loving arms of our Creator.”
Revilla also extended his heartfelt gratitude to those who sent their condolences and showed their support to his family in such trying times.
“Thank you very much for the love and prayers, as we ask for continuous prayers for the eternal repose of his soul.”
The late senator is the father of incumbent Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr., Cavite 2nd District Representative Strike Revilla, and Evelyn Bautista-Jaworski, among others.
