Miss Philippines Earth 2019 Janelle Tee shared that she already has plans after she passes the crown to the next young lady who will be hailed Miss Philippines Earth 2020.

The pageant has been holding a few of its activities online including competitions for cultural attire, sportswear, and casual wear.

The coronation will also be held virtually and will exclusively air on GMA on July 5, 10:00 am.

After the telecast, it will stream via GMA Network's official website, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts.

Janelle sat down with Singapore-based magazine and blog, Miss Earth Crown to talk about a few things leading up to the Miss Earth 2020's virtual coronation.

She revealed that even though there is a pandemic, her work as reigning Miss Philippines Earth continues.

"I still continue to partner with more organizations like WWF Philippines. We help off grid communities. Ibig sabihin noong off grid 'yung mahirap na puntahan or mahirap na abutin ng local government kasi malayo talaga siya," she explains.

"Wala silang ilaw so we're trying to provide solar lamps for them. Wala silang water tanks, which is very important now na pandemic, wala silang maayos na water supply.

"Nag-surpass tayo doon sa target natin na ma-raise na funds with WWF Philippines. We can provide more than what we were aiming for sa water tanks na kailangan ng communities na 'to," she adds.

She added that she's adjusted to the new normal just like how the pageant made changes that would make the competition possible to go on even though there is a pandemic.

"That's how my work evolved as Miss Philippines Earth. Everything is online, like how the virtual pageant is.

"We have been very innovative and the work still continues 'di ba?" Janelle says.

Janelle also shared plans for her career after she ends her reign as Miss Philippines Earth 2019.

"I also wanna put up my business, a start-up business.

"Hopefully, maybe a social enterprise perhaps that could still continue my advocacy for livelihood. I would still pursue [showbiz], perhaps on acting naman this time.

"If may hosting din on the side [okay din]. But I wanna try something new naman this time," she revealed.

Janelle wants to challenge herself with acting since she thinks it will be different from her experience as a host in the afternoon game and variety show Wowowin.

"Sanay ako sa happy happy. 'Pag host ka 'di ba, it's either formal or happy happy.

"But in acting kasi you have to leave who you are and be the character. Medyo challenging 'yun kaya gusto ko rin. Ganoon ako, gusto ko ng challenge. Gusto ko mas matuto pa," Janelle shared.
