
This was part of the statement released by the legal counsel of Catriona Gray, Atty. Joji Alonso, on circulation of the beauty queen's fake topless photo.
In an Instagram post of Atty. Alonso on Sunday, July 19, she shared a screenshot of the alleged topless photo of Catriona Gray.
“When someone circulates photos giving a false impression of nudity...
“You need to check out the YouTube link of Catriona Gray's Bench ad.”
She also uploaded an official statement about this matter and stressed that the photo is “fake” and was “digitally altered.”
“It has come to our attention that an alleged topless photo of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray has been spreading online and a certain tabloid will be releasing it.
“We want to inform the public that this photo is fake and digitally altered.”
Atty Joji also stressed that they will not hesitate to take any legal actions whoever behind this fake photo of Ms. Gray.
“We are actively coordinating with authorities to hold accountable whoever is behind this scheme and face penal sanctions accordingly.
"We will likewise take legal action against those involved in the manufacture and publication of said photo.”
In addition, the lawyer reminded the public to be more “discerning” during this time that “fake news is prevalent” on social media.
“We strongly denounce this vicious attempt to tarnish the good name of Ms.Gray.
“At a time when fake news is prevalent, we firmly urge the public to be discerning and critical of what they see and share on social media.”
Catriona Gray is the fourth Filipina to win the Miss Universe crown in 2018.
She is also currently in a relationship with singer-actor Sam Milby, who confirmed that he is dating the beauty queen last May.
