Jennylyn Mercado supports Lumads

Jennylyn Mercado has expressed her concern and support for the Lumads of Mindanao, who are victims of killings, harassment, and eviction from their ancestral lands.

After raising her concerns involving some political issues, Jennylyn Mercado joins an important discussion surrounding the welfare of the indigenous people in the country.

The Ultimate Star has shown her support to the plight of Lumads of Mindanao, who are victims of several brutal killings, harassment, and eviction from their ancestral lands.

On Twitter, Jennylyn expressed her sentiments after learning that some members of the indigenous group are missing. Accompanied by an online article about the issue, Jennylyn could not help but ask some pressing questions.

"Kelan sila papakawalan? Kelan sila papauwin?"

Jennylyn admitted that she does not have enough knowledge about this serious matter, but she is very much willing to be educated so she can better fight for the cause.

Jennylyn also empathizes with the Lumad children after the government shut down at least 50 Lumad schools.

Aside from Jennylyn, other celebrities who call for justice for the Lumad community include Maine Mendoza, Ice Seguerra, Angel Locsin, and Luis Manzano.
