Nadia Montenegro, Chuckie Dreyfus, and entertainment writer Aster Amoyo are joining forces to help pay for the medication of fellow actor John Regala.

It can be recalled that John went viral recently after he was spotted in Pasay, City looking stick-thin while waiting for a nurse who'd give him his medication.

In a report made by GMA News, barangay officials noted that the former action star had been puking incessantly for 15 days due to liver cirrhosis.

Upon learning of John Regala's condition, Nadia, Chuckie, and Aster are setting up a “Gava Gives Assistance Account” for the actor.

On her Instagram account, Nadia wrote, “With the help of Nanay Aster A. Amoyo & Chuckie Dreyfus we have created a 'Gava Gives Assistance Account' for John and are now waiting for approval for the account wherein anyone who wants to help can send it through there.”

Nadia added that she has spoken to John although she cannot understand a word that he is saying.

She noted, “I will be seeing him later together with a doctor friend that will take all tests brother John needs urgently.”

According to the actress, John needs a wheelchair, daily food and medical assistance, and dialysis for his liver cirrhosis.

“To those who want to send donations and help of any kind to John please private message me,” she concluded.

I talked to him this morning but cant hardly understand his words. I will be seeing him later together with a doctor friend that will take all tests brother John needs urgently. CONDITION: John is suffering from Liver cirrhosis and hasn't had dialysis for months now due to lack of funds. He needs health assistance urgently. John Regala, or John Paul Guido Bourer Scherrer in real life, is popularly known for portraying antagonist roles in Philippine movies and series in 1990s.

His showbiz career stalled due to heavy drug abuse but later went to a drug rehabilitation center to turn his life around.

Aside from being an actor, he is also an environmentalist who set up Project Green Evolution Inc. which produces the Water Bonsai Organic Root Grower, billed as a “miracle powder for growing indoor plants.”

He is currently under the care of Iglesia ni Cristo and lives in Quezon City.
