BJ Pascual in response to copycat claims: "There was no way we could have copied Gigi's photos."
Celebrity photographer BJ Pascual defended the released maternity photos of his good friend and actress, Coleen Garcia.
On Twitter, the photographer called out blogger Fashion Pulis for claiming that they have “copied” the maternity photos released by American model Gigi Hadid.
To which BJ replied, “Hi @fashionpulis, please be respectful naman of Filipino creatives. Some of us work hard on conceptualizing shoots to create these images.
“Coleen's were inspired by a combination of the Birth of Venus by Boticelli and The Swing (and The Meeting) by Jean Honore Fragonard.”
He also showed a video showing his raw images that indicated August 1 as its creation.
“So unless may psychic abilities ako or baka sobrang close siguro kami ni Gigi at 'di ko lang alam, walang wala talagang way para 'kopyahin' namin 'yung shoot nila,” BJ said.
“While you're at it, please stop pitting women against each other. Pati ba naman mga buntis?! 2020 na, may pandemya pa, toxic ka pa rin. It's never too late for character development, siz.”

In his latest vlog, BJ revealed that celebrity hairstylist Renz Pangilinan came up with the initial concept.
He said, “From Rococo paintings 'yung background kasi 'yung initial concept namin is, (sinend sa akin ni Renz before pa) Birth of Venus --- which is a Renaissance painting.
“Sobrang hubad lang nung Birth of Venus kaya dinagdagan namin 'yung Rococo color palette kasi bagay din sa pregnancy shoot.”
