Miss Universe Sorsogon 2019 Maria Isabela Granada


“With so much sadness in my heart, I regret to inform you that I tested positive for COVID-19,” writes Maria Isabela Galeria.

Sorsogon-bet for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant Maria Isabela Galeria says that she tested positive for the coronavirus.

On Sunday, September 27, Isabela revealed that she became infected despite following safety precautions.

She wrote, “Hello, everyone. With so much sadness in my heart, I regret to inform you that I tested positive for COVID-19 rtPCR. This news breaks my heart deeply and I apologize if ever I put you at risk.

“We followed and did all the safety precautions to safeguard from the infection, however it still found us.

“I have spoken with those that I saw recently. My team, my MUP sisters, and those I had close contact with in Manila all tested negative.

“I am in isolation and quarantined now.”

Isabela said she already asked all the people she's come in contact with to have them immediately checked.

“I am truly, deeply sorry. Kindly find it in your hearts to include me and my family in your prayers,” she concluded.

In the comments, candidates of the Miss Universe Philippines and its alumna sent their message of encouragement to the beauty queen.

Isabela will compete against 50 other candidates for the Miss Universe Philippines title. In 2019, she was part of the Top 15 candidates in the Binibining Pilipinas competition.
