Volleybelle-turned-beauty queen Michele Gumabao finished 2nd runner up in the 2020 Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

Like a heart of a true champion, Michele Gumabao knows how to handle defeat.

After making noise prior to the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant and many of her adoring fans consider her as one of the strongest candidates in this year's competition, Michele Gumabao failed to clinch the crown.

The former De La Salle University spiker and three-time UAAP champion, finished 2nd runner up in Miss Universe Philippines.

Michele released a statement via the Aces and Queens Instagram account to share her thoughts about her journey.

She first thanked her “Michelin stars” for their unwavering support to her.

“To all my Michelin stars thank you for being with me on this journey! I love each and everyone of you!”

Also, the mestiza beauty queen stressed that she doesn't have any regrets, since she knows that she gave everything to win the crown.

“I can handle defeat hahahaha I can't handle the people asking me why why why…

“I'm sharing this with you because you deserve to know my side, we don't need to defend to anyone. I did my very best and I have no regrets.”

Michele's brother, Marco had this to say on his Instagram Story about her amazing performance and expressed how much he is proud of her.

“I'm proud of you! Of course, I don't agree with the decision, but now is not the time to be bitter about it. I know this is God's plan. We're just getting started.”

In 2018, Michele Gumabao finished in the Top 15 of Miss Globe 2018 held in Albania.

Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo was crowned as the new Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
