
K-pop band EXO's band member Xiumin shall be discharged from mandatory military service this December 6, in line with COVID-19 regulations.
On November 23, EXO's music label SM Entertainment spoke up about Xiumin's release, “Xiumin is currently on a final leave and will be discharged on December 6 without returning to the base. This is in accordance with instructions aimed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. There will be no separate discharge event," SM stated as reported by Soompi.

During his service, he participated in Return: The Promise of the Day, a musical held in the military, along with other Korean singers, Jo Kwon and Yoon Ji-sung.
Xiumin enlisted in the military on May 7, 2019. His fellow EXO member D.O. enlisted last July and is scheduled to be discharged in January 2021. Members Suho and Chen enlisted this May and October, respectively.
