
The Department of Education highly encourages students to watch the coming-of-age drama Kaibigan: The Series which will air on GMA Network starting tomorrow, December 5, at 8:45 A.M.
According to DepEd's director for external partnership service Edel Carag, the scripts of the series were reviewed by the Bureau of Curriculum Development.
"The scripts of 'Kaibigan: The Series,' were reviewed by the Bureau of Curriculum Development, relative to their alignment, relevance to the curriculum, especially with the minimum essential learning competencies and the suitability to the learners' level of development," Director Carag said during the digital conference of Kaibigan: The Series.
"I would like to inform everyone that these are the results of the review: The series is a possible supplementary or non-supplementary [material] for specific grade levels. [It will help] to further enhance the process of the five macro skills needed for the Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao namely understanding, or pag-unawa, reflection, or pagninilay, consult, or pagsangguni, creating decision, or pagpapasya, and act, or pagkilos.
"Another one is 'The contents of these scripts are really suitable to the learners' level of development, logically presented and organized. The content of these scripts also provide and communicate clear learning goals.'"
Director Carag then encouraged their teachers, school heads, parents, and learners to watch Kaibigan: The Series.
"We would like to encourage, therefore, our teachers, our school heads, of course our parents who are also facilitating learning at their home, and of course our learners to watch 'Kaibigan: The Series.'"
Starring in Kaibigan: The Series are the Perkins twins, Jesse and Christian, who are also DepEd's Ambassadors for Anti-Drugs, Anti-Drinking, Anti-Smoking, Anti-Bullying and Purity.
