Dr Dre

Ice Cube, LL Cool J, and Missy Elliott offer their well wishes for the recovery of rapper-producer Dr. Dre.

Rapper-producer Dr. Dre sent his message of thanks from his bed at the ICU (intensive care unit) at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, after being treated for aneurysm.

The 55-year-old hip-hop legend had reportedly suffered the aneurysm on Monday and was rushed to the hospital, according to TMZ.

The following night, Dr. Dre took to Instagram to post a black and white photo of himself in his recording studio together with a message of appreciation.

“I'm doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team,” he said.

“I will be out of the hospital and be back home soon. Shoutout to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One love!!!”

News of Dr. Dre's hospitalization triggered many celebrities to share their well wishes on social media, including fellow N.W.A. member Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J, and Missy Elliot.

Ice Cube tweeted, “Send your love and prayers to the homie, Dr. Dre.”

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram, “Get well, Dr. Dre. We need u cuz.”

LL Cool J, a rapper who came up in the same era like Dr. Dre, tweeted that the producer is “recovering nicely.”

Missy Elliott tweeted, “Prayers up for Dr. Dre and his family for healing and strength over his mind and body.”

According to reports, the doctors say they don't know what caused the bleeding but are currently performing a series of tests to see the cause.

High blood pressure is the leading cause of subarachnoid hemorrhage, and heavy lifting or strain can cause the aneurysm to rupture.

Dr. Dre was rushed to the hospital while in the middle of a divorce with his ex-wife, Nicole Young. The latter allegedly seeks nearly $2 million a month in temporary spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees from his estimated $1 billion business empire.

The 55-year-old rapper currently pays his estranged wife $293,306 per month through a court order.

Dr. Dre, born Andre Young, is considered one of the most influential hip-hop figures who have risen to international fame after founding N.W.A. (Niggas Wit Attitudes) in the late '80s with Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E, Dj Yella, and so much more.

He is the producer behind some of the big names in music, including Snoop Dogg, the late Tupac, and Eminem. He has also co-founded Beats Electronics, an audio products company that was purchased by Apple in 2014.
