Korean boy group GOT7 is set to part ways with JYP Entertainment, the agency that created and managed the group for seven years, according to a report by Korean news outlet Dispatch as quoted by Soompi.
GOT7's appearance at the 35th Golden Disc Awards, where they won the Best Album Disc Bonsang Award for the fifth consecutive year, could be their last as a group as their exclusive contracts with JYP Entertainment are set to expire this month.
"The GOT7 members are very close. They agreed to stay together, but they disagreed on the choice of their agency," an unnamed industry source said, as quoted by Soompi.
"After multiple discussions with the company, they decided to part ways."
JYP Entertainment has yet to release an official statement regarding GOT7's departure but a source from the company said, as quoted by Soompi, “We can not confirm which [agencies] each member is in contact with. We will inform you once our position regarding GOT7's contract renewal is ready.”
On Twitter, GOT7 member Mark Tuan promised fans that "nothing is coming to an end."
He tweeted, "The past 7 years have been the best years of my life."
"Nothing is coming to an end, just the beginning.
"The seven of us are going to continue to bring you guys the best version of us till the end. #GOT7FOREVER"

Netizens have different reactions to the news. Others remain optimistic and hopeful that they would continue their career as a group despite leaving JYP Entertainment, while some promise to wait until they get reunited, if ever the members decide to pursue solo careers.
