She may have laughed it off at first, but Mariel Padilla is drawing the line when it comes to her husband, Robin Padilla, and the well-being of their family.
On Wednesday, January 20, PEP.ph released a blind item surrounding an actor impregnating a “controversial female personality.” Despite not revealing any said parties' names, many netizens identified that it was Robin and appointed public official Mocha Uson.
The following day, a brave netizen directly asked Mariel about the issue and said, “Sis, ano masasabi mo na buntis daw si Mocha at si Robin ang tatay????”
The TV host simply replied with three laughing emojis.
By midnight, Mariel released an official statement surrounding the rumors involving her husband and the former dancer.
She wrote on Instagram, “So many people are sending me messages… ' checking' on me. People are tagging me blah bah blah…
“Let me tell you this: Robin's brother passed away. He is grieving. He has never been in so much pain all his life. He doesn't need your baseless gossip. Namatayan ng kapatid 'yung asawa ko.”
Mariel is pertaining to the death of Royette Padilla, Robin's sibling, last January 9, 2021.
Furthermore, the host reiterated that her husband is not aware of the rumors; that's why it'd be better for netizens to stop barking up the wrong tree.
“Please lang po. He doesn't even know anything about all this rumor, but I am putting a stop to this now,” she exclaimed.
“May oras para maging a**holes but now is not that time. Please.”
Recently, Royette Padilla, the older brother of actors Robin Padilla and BB Gandanghari, passed away at 58 years old.
While no official statement from the family about Royette's death was released, news reports say that the former actor died of “cardiac dysrhythmia.”
Royette was part of the Padilla showbiz clan, the son of actor Roy Padilla to actress Eva Cariño, and appeared in many movies, including 'Di na Natutuo (Sorry na, Puweda ba?), Mistah, Bahay Kamao, and Alab ng Lahi.
On January 16, Mariel thanked all of their family members and supporters who grieved with them during the wake.
She said on Instagram, “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng nakiramay, sa lahat ng nag dasal at nakidalamhati sa pag panaw ni Kuya Royette.
“I admire the strength of the Padilla family. The pain they are going through is immeasurable, but despite that, they choose to honor and celebrate the colorful life of Kuya Royette.”
