EXOs DO

D.O. immediately trended on Twitter after holding a special VLive broadcast to meet with his fans.

EXO-Ls, most especially Kyungsoo fans, were in for a treat as EXO member Do Kyungsoo, known famously as D.O., held a surprise VLive broadcast last night, January 25, to celebrate his discharge from the military.

The 35-minute-broadcast showed the 28-year-old singer saying hello to fans and letting them know that he has returned safely from his 18-month military duty.

During the broadcast, D.O. shared a few tidbits about his military service, including the things he ate while on duty.

He said, “There's really a lot of things that I want to eat, as there are fixed menus in the military. I had a lot of food made by my mom, so I ate lots!

“Although things are tough now, I don't know how to say this, but let's gain a lot of strength together and defeat this difficult time.”

He also spoke candidly about his upcoming project, The Moon, in which he is slated to play together with Korean actor Seol Kyung-gu, and said that fans should anticipate it.

Meanwhile, as for his other endeavors, D.O. said he is in the midst of taking guitar lessons and that there is a type of music he wishes to try in the future.

He explained, “There is music that I wish to try, so I'm planning hard to bring them to everyone.

“As for album preparations, I'm working hard on it. The songs are done. I am working on the lyrics. Once the lyrics are done, then recordings, then I can finally show it to you guys.”

D.O. added, “I also read all the letters you sent while in the military. I spent a lot of time reading them all. Thank you so much. I feel really proud, and while reading them, I felt really happy.”

After the broadcast, he gifted his fans with a live video of himself singing his song “That's Okay,” which was initially released on the day of his enlistment on July 1, 2019.

The song, written by D.O. himself, talks about letting go of sad feelings and hoping to achieve happiness.

D.O. was initially relieved from his military duties on an earlier date as he was on his final leave. Following the military's COVID-19 guidelines, individuals need not return to the base to avoid contraction of the virus.

He is the second EXO member to complete his mandatory military service, following Xiumin, who was discharged last month. Currently, Suho and Chen are serving their terms.
