Korean boy group BTS's colorful outfits worn during their "Dynamite" music video went above and beyond in a charity auction run by Julien's Auctions' MusiCares Charity Relief Auction to help provide health and financial resources for MusiCares, a charity helping people from the music industry affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
BTS said in a statement posted by Julien's Auctions, "It is our pleasure to participate in 2020 MusiCares Person of the Year by donating seven of our customized microphones that have helped push our music beyond linguistic and regional barriers. Through this donation, we hope people can remember our genuine and heartfelt message that we always have strived to deliver: "LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF."
The group donated their pastel-colored outfits worn during their "Dynamite" music video to MusicCares which organizes the yearly Grammy Awards. The outfits included the T-shirts, hats, sneakers, pants, and shirts from brands like Levi's, Nike Air Jordan's, and Polo Ralph Lauren, which were originally estimated worth between $20,000 to $40,000. However, after 17 bids, the prices for the outfits soared and the items were sold for more than $162,500 to Japanese art collector Yusaku Maezawa, and Hikakin, a famous Japanese content creator.

The "Dynamite" outfits aren't the only items that were available for bidding in Julien's Auctions. A group of seven custom silver-toned Shure microphones from BTS, signed by the respective band members in black marker: "RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook" were also auctioned.
Julien's Auctions wrote on their website, "The seven signed, custom-made microphones were used by BTS from 2017-2019, including during their epic "BTS World Tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself", and they are the first ever items to come to auction from the group. BTS also used the microphones while performing at the "BTS World Tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" date at Citi Field in New York City on October 6, 2018."
The microphone set was sold after two bids for $83,200.
