Kapuso actresses Heart Evengelista and Carla Abellana use their star power to help 47 dogs that are currently on death row.

In an impassioned plea, Carla Abellana called the attention of everyone to be responsible in taking care of pets and encouraged adoption.

She posted on Instagram “Please, please, please ADOPT instead of shop.

“Thousands of strays are euthanized on a weekly basis at city pounds all over our country.

“Be a responsible pet owner too. Spay/neuter your pets to avoid unwanted pets who end up becoming strays.

The Love of My Life star also asked for anyone's help to save the dogs on death row according to the post of @pawssionproject.

“Do not abandon. Having a pet is a lifetime commitment.

“[Forty-seven] dogs on death row -- scheduled to be killed by gunshot ‼️

“And yes, killing by gunshot is legal. And all you irresponsible pet owners, know that you are responsible for the deaths if dogs on death row!!

“This is just one of the many dogs on death row in several pounds in the country.”

Carla added, “Can we finally put irresponsible pet owners behind bars this time? Can we finally have more free and subsidized spay and neuter programs so overpopulation can finally be addressed.”

Meanwhile, Philippine Animal Welfare Society ambassador Heart Evangelista also voiced her support to save these dogs and give them a brighter future by finding them their forever home.

She wrote on Instagram Story, “Let's get you out of there take you to your forever home soon papa love.

“Pawssionproject Thank you for them hope adopt' don't shop.. so many dogs are willing to give 'love' like no other. Stop buying love. Know there's that one dog waiting for YOU.”
